This Bill Has Nothing to Do with Saving America

Members,

Don’t let the name “SAVE America Act” fool you. The Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act (S. 1383), also known as the SAVE America Act, does nothing to “save” America.

In fact, this bill threatens our fundamental right to vote by making it significantly more difficult to register and vote in elections. If passed by the Senate and signed into law, this bill would:

  1. Implement very strict ID requirements when registering to vote

  2. A standard driver’s license or REAL ID would not be sufficient.

  3. Require a photocopy of your ID to accompany any mail-in ballots

  4. Mandate most voter registration updates, such as an address change or applying for a mail-in ballot, be done in person.

  5. Cause more frequent voter roll purges

After passing in the House last month, the SAVE America Act (S. 1383) now heads to the Senate.

Call your senators today at 844-402-1001 and tell them to protect our voting rights by voting NO on S. 1383, the SAVE America Act!
