The economy and the rising cost of oil will be the hot button issues of the presidential campaign. In this time when preserving the environment is such an important issue people will question whether or not we should open up the off shore drilling sights and possibly compromise the environment or face every-increasing oil prices. McCain believes that we should drill off-shore and Obama believes there are other alternatives that must be explored before we consider putting the environment at risk.

I believe the war is a hot but-ton issue. Barack Obama has said that, if elected, he will do whatever he can to get our troops out of the war. John McCain supports the war and if he is elected he will continue to justify America's continued involvement in it. I believe that when this war becomes a topic of debate between the two candidates it will become heated and possibly ugly at times. There is no winner in this war and the lives of American troops are still being sacrificed. Hot topic or not I support Barack Obama's position on the war as well as other issues and I will be voting for him in November.

When I was a Flat Sorter Machine Operator I listened to music all the time to help get me through the night. The work was repetitive and unchallenging. Music was always a pleasant distraction. To relieve myself of the tedium I became an Electronic Technician. The work I do now is mentally stimulating. In fact, it can be quite challenging and exciting. There is no longer a need to seek distractions.

Earlier in this campaign year I was supporting Hillary Clinton. Lately though, Hillary has strayed away from the issues that concern us as Americans and has resorted to playing dirty. She is attempting to make people believe that Barack actually agrees with inflammatory statements made by Reverend Wright and she has begun to focus on negativity and is trying to use it to her benefit. I realize that politics can get nasty, but the candidates should at least maintain a sense of honesty. I believe that Senator Obama has remained strong throughout this attack on his character. We need his type of strength and integrity in the White House.

In December I was supporting Hillary Clinton. However, after watching the debates and really listening to both Democratic candidates express their views, I have decided to support Barack Obama. I hope that he becomes the Democratic nominee. I believe he is truly the person who can turn this country around and direct us on the path that leads toward a better future for all Americans. I am proud of Barack for trying to unify this country. I am equally proud to be a member of a union that has stepped forward to publicly endorse him.

In a past interview I stated that I supported Barack Obama. I believe in him even more now than I did before. I agree with a lot of his ideas because most of his ideas are directed toward creating a better United States. Throughout this campaign, Barack has taken a lot of criticism with admirable courage and dignity. I have seen him fight his way though negative media attention and he shines in the spotlight. Barack Obama has a presence that makes you feel that he really cares about the hard working people of this country.
